Life’s Purpose:
Many people wrestle with questions like, “What am I meant to do?” or “What is my purpose?” Recognizing our gifts and aligning our choices with them can lead to a more fulfilling life
In a chapter of my life, where I found myself in the role of a trustee/leadership position not only once but twice
A realization dawned upon me—a realization that perhaps the path chosen for me by circumstances was not aligned with the gifts God has given to me.
God has gifted me with the heart of a caretaker.
I am naturally inclined to support rather than lead,
Reflecting on my morning Bible study about David, many of us are familiar with his story from the David and Goliath. Following the death of King Saul, David was positioned to be the next king. However, he faced the challenge of gaining control of his own soldiers. Being named a leader is one thing; truly leading is another. Effective leadership involves inspiring people to willingly follow you
As I managed through the responsibilities that came with being in a leadership position,
I couldn’t shake the feeling of being a square peg forced into a round hole.
Following the chaos within our family after my dad’s passing,
I should have reconsidered assuming the role of trustee a second time
I should of realized that I lacked the necessary skills for this role
My strengths do not lay in leading, but in supporting and nurturing.
Serving as trustee required qualities that did not naturally align with my character
a homemaker and an introvert are my characteristics,
characteristics not widely seen in successful leadership
It was a great honor and privilege for me to serve as trustee
one that I will always be thankful for
Despite my best efforts, it was not a task I could truly accomplish.
I tried to fulfill my duties to the best of my abilities with the skills I had.
or better said, the skills that I didn’t have
My journey of a trustee was a learning experience marked by challenges and failures.
It has been an invaluable teacher of recognizing my own strengths and weaknesses,
and the courage to acknowledge that I was not suited for this role.
As I move forward with this experience, I do so with a heart full of lessons learned and a spirit renewed by the understanding of my true calling.
As my role as a caretaker, I am constantly prepared and eager to help my family with whatever they require of me. I take pride and find joy in being available for them.
In recognizing the unique gifts that God has bestowed upon each of us, let us remember to embrace and nurture them with gratitude and humility. These gifts are not just for our benefit but are meant to be shared, to uplift, and to serve others. To cherished and used for the greater good, fostering love, compassion, and positive change in the world, to glorify the Lord our God
By using our God-given talents, we can make a positive impact in the world, shining His light through our actions. Let us commit to recognizing, developing, and generously sharing our gifts, knowing that in doing so, we honor the One who graciously gave them to us.
