Interactive Lesson #22-My Broken Angel Wing

Welcome Friends
Thank You for another day of joining me on my journey with my
walk with the Lord.
Every day is a new day of learning and growing
Every day is a new day to find fresh and new inspiration
Every day is a new day that serves as an opportunity
to better ourselves from the day before

Psalm 40:8
“I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”

The year 2014 was a rough year both me and my daughter Andrea,
May she rest in peace
It was the year I was granted guardianship over her due to her child-like mind
and her vulnerability of others that preyed on her.
The next 8 years that followed were filled with lots of ups and downs
storms and peace- love and hate-acceptance and rebellion

A tattoo on her hip of angel wings that were broken, It saddened
my heart when she told the story about why she got broken angel wings.
Since I had gotten guardianship over her, she felt broken, her life was
no longer hers and the day that she would be in heaven would be the day that
she would finally be set free.
Yes, she loved me and I love her, It was that “control” I had over her that
she hated, as she wanted to do everything in her life, her way and her decision.
She seen it as control and I seen it as her protector, her guardian

Definition of guardianship
someone who protects or looks after another, such as a mentor, protector, or guide
.

In reality, I felt the same way Andrea did.
I don’t want anyone controlling my life either.
I want to do what I please, whenever I please and the freedom of
making my own decisions too.
How far from the truth this kind of thinking is.
How deceived I was
This kind of mindset isn’t freedom, it’s a trap of Satan, rooted in the ways of the world.
Just as Andrea would push back and rebel against some of the decisions I had to make for her own good,
I found myself doing the same thing with the Holy Spirit,
resisting, pushing back and rebelling against its guidance in my life.

The Holy Spirit dwells within all believers
serving as a mentor- guiding, comforting and teaching us in truth
a protector who intercedes on our behalf, and a guide who leads us in alignment with God’s will

John 14:26-“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”

An Advocate – Someone who comes alongside to help and guide
A Teacher – Bringing understanding and wisdom.
A Reminder – Helping believers recall Jesus’ teachings.

True freedom isn’t about me wanting control over my own life and making my own decisions.
When I live with this mindset, I become a slave to my own desires, trapped by pride and self-reliance.
This is not freedom at all—it’s a deception that leads to bondage.
This is exactly what Satan wants, for us to be his slave.

2 Corinthians 3:17
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

True freedom is found in surrendering control to God and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead.
When I decided that I needed to start listen to the Holy Spirit instead of myself
I found the freedom of peace, a purpose in life along with fulfillment that the world could
not provide me. It felt good to break those chains of bondage that tied me to satan.

I can truly sympathize with how Andrea felt, I seen her pain and I felt her pain
when she would text me all sorts of nasty text messages and to drop guardianship
of her but I also felt her relief when she asked for my help to ger her out of a situation
that she could not handle on her own.
That it how we need to see the Holy Spirit in our own lives, not as a burden but
as a relief. The Holy Spirit lives within us to guide us from getting into situation
that can get out of hand.

I like the phrase that Jiminy Cricket says to Pinocchio
“Let your conscience be your guide.”
with one small change
“Let your Holy Spirit be your guide.”
Your inner sense of right and wrong is the Holy Spirit guiding you,
It’s a reminder to follow what you know to be morally right.
Don’t ignore it when making decisions or choosing your actions.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

This was the root of my problem-
The desired to control my own life which made me stray from the path that aligned with
God’s will for me.
Satan wants us to believe that his way is the better way as it is more fun and exciting
with the freedom to do whatever we want, whenever we please.
I can honestly say that there were moments when it was more fun… until it wasn’t.
The consequences and the realization that came with that freedom
Without God’s guidance, the path I chose only led to an undesirable life of self-serving motives.

Only in Christ do we find the freedom to live as we were created to live,
free from the bondage of sin and self-centeredness.
True freedom isn’t found in doing whatever I want, but in surrendering to God’s will

As Jesus said, in John 8:36- “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”

I invite you to join me in breaking free from the chains that bind us to Satan’s lies and deception.
Let’s start by opening our hearts to the Holy Spirit by
allowing Him to guide us, mentor us, and transform our lives.
True freedom begins with a decision only you can make

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a humble and heartfelt prayer.
I pray that you lift up those who are bound by the chains of the enemy—set them free, Lord,
so they may experience the true freedom that comes only through You.
Please give us all the willingness to open our hearts fully to You.
Help us to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit, surrendering our own desires so we may follow Your perfect will.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Change begins within—join me today to create a better world together
