Welcome Friends
I am so glad you are here
I hope you are enjoying learning about all the pieces of the Armor of God
just as much as I am
It has been an eye-opening, that for sure
Any day that we can learn new revelation is a great day
Now, let’s take what we’ve learned and put it into action in our lives!
Ephesians 6:17-Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
The Roman’s helmet had two purposes: protection and identification
The Helmet of Salvation also has two purposes:
Protection– the helmet is designed to protect your mind and thoughts
As a Christian, the biggest battlefield is in your mind, where much of the warfare you will fight takes place.
Identification-Once you put the helmet on, you belong to Christ and that activates the armor
Without salvation, you can’t even put on the rest of the armor
There are 2 parts to salvation
Justification – This is the moment we become a Christian.
It begins when we ask the Lord to come into our lives, to be our Savior and the ruler over our life
It’s our personal commitment to follow Christ and begin a relationship with Him that lasts forever.
Sanctification – How we live our life
This is the lifelong journey of becoming more like Jesus.
It’s the ongoing work of God in our lives, shaping us through repentance and deepening our relationship with Him.
As we walk with the Lord, we should see real, lasting change. Becoming spiritually healthier and growing in Godly character
If our relationship with God isn’t producing transformation
it’s important to pause and ask, “Lord, what’s out of alignment?”
True salvation changes us from the inside out.
1 Thessalonians 5:8-“But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love,
and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.”
The only way to stay clearheaded is by continually repenting, staying in God’s Word, and remaining faithful in prayer.
These practices become our foundation and renew our minds.
This gives us hope to know that we are saved, hope for the future and eternity and hope for today
that God is walking us though.
Romans 12:3-“Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning:
Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.”
This verse warns us to check our hearts daily, an honest look at our heart. Keeping our pride in check
It’s a reminder that our value comes from God
seeing ourselves clearly-neither inflated nor discouraged-so we can grow in grace and live in alignment with God’s will.
Isaiah 26:3–You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
This is putting on our helmet of salvation and keeping our thoughts on Him
Romans 8:6-7-So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.
Don’t slip back into old patterns but move forward with purpose. When the Spirit guides your thoughts, it brings life and peace.
Keep renewing your mind daily
1 Peter 1:15-“But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who called you is holy”
choosing holiness is a choice that we need to make
What does holiness look like? what do our thoughts need to be?
Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.
Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
When our minds are fixed on these things, it becomes difficult to have a critical spirit
Selfishness loses its grip, and even depression begins to fade.
It is going to be hard to think about anything other than God
What are we filling our minds with, what are we reading, what are we watching, who are we listening to?
Guard Your Minds
We must learn to keep our helmets buckled so that the enemy’s fiery arrows do not lodge
in our thoughts and set us on fire
This is why we need to put on our Helmet of Salvation daily
I’ve believed in God for as long as I can remember, but now that I’m 58,
I can see how immature and shallow my faith really was
It wasn’t that I was never taught, I just didn’t have the desire to open my bible
which is our owner’s manual of life.
I didn’t understand the Armor of God, spiritual warfare, the strongholds
that the enemy had over me or how to stand strong spiritually
Repentance wasn’t something I took seriously
I didn’t even recognize most of my actions as sin…just plain ole obstinate
I wasn’t deliberately making Godly choices, I was just going through life
believing in Him but not really walking with Him or having a deep relationship with Him
I made some good choices here and there, but they weren’t out of intentional obedience
I was just… existing
Now I’m beginning to understand what it means to actually live for Him
If we are saved, are we living life as we are saved?
Are we responding differently? Are we walking differently?
The enemy is going to fire those darts at us and try to get us off course
sadly, as soon at we accept Christ, the enemy is right there with his firey darts
Lets not let those darts side swipe us and destroy us, as God has a good plan for each of us
What is God asking you to do right now in faith? Is there something that He is challenging you
to do and you’re stepping back…ears plugged-I can’t hear you God
What fiery darts is the enemy using to distract you?
Ask God to replace them with His strength and faith and…..Live Saved !!
Lets pray, support and encourage one another
Coming next- Sword of the Spirit
I invite you to join me on this journey
Let’s allow God to transform our hearts.
True change starts from within, and when He changes us, we can better impact the world around
