Interactive Lesson #37- Shield of Faith

Welcome friends
I can’t even begin to describe how mind-blowing it’s been to dive deep into
learning about the Armor of God
Every piece has opened my eyes and my heart in ways I never expected
Let’s dig in together-let’s learn, share, grow, and mature in our walk with the Lord
There’s so much more He wants to show us.

Ephesians 6:16 “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

The Roman’s shield was as large as a door and would cover them entirely.
In a group, they could position the shields to form an enclosure around themselves
It would protect them from flaming arrows being launched at them

Satan attacks in the same manner. He sends flaming arrows in our direction to destroy our faith
Satan tries to mess with us by throwing things at our minds and hearts—like fear, doubt, stress, and lies
He wants us to stop trusting God
He makes sin look really good and entices us with instant gratification and convinces us that what he offers
is better than what God gives

Hebrews 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please him

Faith is like a strong shield
When we trust God, we are better able to see the enemy’s deceitful schemes and not fall for them
Faith doesn’t make our problems go away, but it protects us from being crushed by them
It helps us stay strong and close to God, even when life gets hard
the pressures that come at you in everyday life

Faith recognized the deceptiveness of these tactics and quickly extinguishes them
Faith is a protective barrier between us and the schemes of satan
Faith in God acts like a shield
It doesn’t make the problems disappear, but it protects your heart and mind
from being destroyed by them.

Philippians 4:13 -“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The shield of faith is like saying:
“No matter what’s coming at me—bad news, criticism, anxiety, guilt
I choose to trust that God is bigger than this, and that He’s got me.”
Every time doubt tries to pierce our heart, hold up your faith and speak God’s Word
That’s how you fight back—not with your own strength, but with the strength that comes from Christ

Satan is all about selfish ambition. He wanted to be like God, not serve Him
He is the father of all lies (John 8:44) he twists truth just enough to make it sound right
A tempter (Matthew 4:1–11) lures people to sin
The accuser of believers (Revelation 12:10) he loves to remind you, you’re unworthy of God’s grace
A master of disguise (2 Corinthians 11:14) he can appear as something good to lead you into something harmful
Roaming like a lion (1 Peter 5:8) Always watching, waiting, looking for someone to devour
A thief (John 10:10) he comes to steal your peace, kill your hope, and destroy your purpose

We are living in a world of learning to dismantle our Armor of God
christians and non christians both can sense the world is a broken place
something has gone terribly wrong

God has drawn a line
There is Heaven and there is Hell
There is God and there is Satan
There is Right and there is Wrong
There is Truths and there is Lies
The lie is….. there is not line and we have the right to move the line

Watching American Idol, my heart aches listening to the singer’s stories of struggling with feeling
of unworthy or not good enough
I can completely relate.
In my school aged years, I struggled with low self-esteem, negative thoughts,
suicide thoughts and depression. I remember how vulnerable I felt
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us….”For we are his workmanship,
It was a time in my life when I didn’t have my shield of faith in place
With the shield of faith, those arrows don’t sink in as deep.
Trusting that God is working, even in the pain.

From age 18 to 55, I believed in God, but I didn’t really walk closely with Him.
I tried to manage life on my own and only reached out to Him when things got tough
I didn’t fully understand what it meant to trust Him or let Him guide my decisions
I didn’t realize how my words were becoming Satan’s fiery darts aimed at other people
I would gossip about someone behind their back, complain when things were as I wanted them
I’d say things out of frustration, sarcasm, or judgment, not realizing I was tearing someone down instead of building them up.
I was letting the enemy use me as a weapon against someone else’s spirit
and vise verse, when others hurt me or said something that felt like an attack
I didn’t handle it well–I took offense–I didn’t know how to break free.

The shield of faith is our trust in God, learning how important it is to raise our shield every day,
believing His promises and He in in control
It helps us to stay calm, focused and strong

As the world gets more darker, we need to get more deeper
we are going to need more bible, more prayer, more time in Gods presents
more time with the holy spirit
we need more wisdom to guide though it
it calls for people who will allow God to transform their heart
people who are all in for the fight… and for the victory

A soldiers get their medal when the battle is won
Lets not stop halfway of in our spiritual fight
Are we pulling Hell up into our lives with pride and selfish choices
or are we inviting Heaven by walking in obedience, staying humble before God

so that one day, we’ll hear the words
Matthew 25:21-“Well done, good and faithful servant”

The Armor of God
1. Belt of Truth – If we don’t know God’s Word, how will we recognize what’s real and what’s a lie?
In a world full of confusion, the Bible is our lifeline
Without it, we’re vulnerable, easily swayed, easily deceived
2.Breastplate of Righteousness – It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about making intentional choices……God-honoring choices
3. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace – Prepares us to share peace and bring hope wherever we go
share your testimony
4. Shield of Faith – Defends against lies and block the fiery darts meant to take us down
To put our trust God even when we don’t see the whole picture
5. Coming soonHelmet of Salvation – Guards our minds with hope

Heaven Father
Thank You for giving me a new heart-one that is teachable, open, and ready to learn, grow, and change.
I pray that You continue to mold me into the person You’ve called me to be
I pray Lord for those that are lost and confused that they may they come to know You and
find true peace and the freedom that only You can provide.
In this world filled with deception and the lies of Satan, I pray that Your truth would shine brightly, guiding them to Your light and love.
In Jesus’ name I pray
Amen

I invite you to join me on this journey
Let’s allow God to transform our hearts.
True change starts from within, and when He changes us, we can better impact the world around
