Interactive Lesson #13-Time To Clean Out Your Junk Drawer

Welcome Friends,
I am so excited to for you to join me today.
I am so blessing for another day that God has given me here on earth
to use me as His vessel to share His word through me to you.

How many of you have that one spot in house that is the collection of junk?
You really don’t have a place for it so it just gets thrown somewhere.
Just little odds and ends of things and maybe things that your not really wanting to throw it
so you shove it into the junk pile.
mine is-a drawer in the laundry room,

Where did I get this habit from?

Today is a great day to start cleaning out that junk drawer.
Stop throwing everything in there and time to clean it out, organize it and get rid of that unwanted junk.
of course, you know that I am not really talking about the junk drawer in the house
but that junk in our minds.

Time to clean out those bad habits
That place where we brush all our sinful thoughts that turn into sinful behaviors.
Time to honor the Lord by being obedient to His word as scripture says to do.

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

often, our eyes start to adjust to the darkness around us
out of sight and out of mind.
well actually it’s just the opposite
out of sight and into our minds

We don’t have the right to say- “in my family, this is how we do it”
It’s time to stop what we are doing, break bad habits and time to start looking in a new direction
If you want to reap something different then you have to change what you sow
these continued bad behaviors only separates us from God.

If you want to act bad, you don’t even have to try.
If you want to wake up each morning looking appealing,
If you don’t want your hair going in all direction, you have to “order” yourself.
You have to work at it
The same holds true with our walk with the Lord, you have to “intentionally” work on your
relationship with Him.

It is our responsibility to clean out our own junk drawn
Our Responsibility Only!

Romans 12:2″Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

We are soldier for the Lord not satan, the enemy. We need to destroy the works of the devil
by renewing our mind and cleaning out that junk.
beware of the side effects !!
It draws us nearer to the Lord

James 4:8: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

for some people, like me, we experienced just the opposite,
I was at a place in my life where I was not actively seeking the Lord,
oh yes, I was a follower the Lord and loved the Lord. Love the Lord? Did I truly love the Lord?

Jesus says in Matthew 22:37
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'”

Loving the Lord means having a heartfelt, genuine relationship with God defined by:
1. John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments”
Obedience to His Commandments
2. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Faith and Trust
3. Psalm 100:2 “Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”
Worship and Praise
4. Romans 12:2 be transformed by the renewal of your mind
Seeking God’s Will-Prioritizing God’s desires and plans over personal ambitions
5. Colossians 1:10 “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him,
bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
Continuous Growth

I was kind of, sort of….. Loving the Lord with all my heart, soul and mind
To be honest, He was basically sitting dormant in my life -waiting and waiting for me to draw nearer to Him and when nothing was happening anytime to soon,
God met me at a place where I did not know He was going to be.

Where was this place and time in my life?
During the lowest time of my life
August 31, 2022- my daughter Andrea decided to give up the fight and chose hospice
and it was also during the time where all sorts of other chao was going on in my life.
This was the exact time and place where God chose to meet me
God had to shake my world and wake me up

I didn’t realize it at that time, but this was the beginning of an incredible journey
that He was preparing me for.
The starting point of transforming my heart and changing myself.
A new heart that will truly Love Him with all my heart, all my mind and all my soul

Every day is a new day that I work on cleaning out my junk drawer.
No, it is not easy as there has been way too much junk in my junk drawer
that has been in there for way to told long and that has become a repetitive habit.
gossip, judging others, complaining and nagging are just a few
that I have been working hard at to clean up.

It is our personal responsibility and commitment, with sincere effort and dedication,
to cleanse our minds of the clutter that serves only to benefit Satan

How about you?
What is in your junk drawer that can use some cleaning up and reorganized?
With the New Year approaching,
I invite you, alongside myself to start removing those unpleasant habits
and behaviors that only serve satan
and start replacing them with behaviors that please the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father
I come before you today with a desire in my heart, a desire to draw nearer to You.
I pray that You help open my eyes and reveal to me, the undesirable habit and behaviors
that I need to clean up out of my junk drawer aka my mind and help me to replace
them with desires pleasing to You.
Help me Lord to break these bad habits. These habit that have been lingering for too long.
Help me to break these bad habits as I no longer what anyone who knows me to follow
these ways but for me to set a better example for others that honor You.
In Jesus’ Name I Pray
Amen
